Our Policy On Returns, Exchange, Cancellations and Refunds 

This document outlines our policy on Returns, exchanges, Cancellations and Refunds for customers. 

Mandatory Unboxing Video 

Please Ensure you take an Unboxing Video or a Video as soon as you open the package . Since our products go through thorough quality checks before they are dispatched, any claim of return, exchange or refund will be entertained if and only if the unboxing video is produced .

Returns and Exchange

Chitralooms accepts returns only in cases where a damaged or wrong product has been delivered.

We do not accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Colour variation concerns

  • Change of mind

  • Sale items

  • Gift cards

  • Products that have been used, altered, or worn

  • Items where fall & pico / tasselling / alterations have been done on request

Handloom textiles can exhibit minor variations in weaving, texture, or finish. Such irregularities are natural and not considered defects.

Eligibility for Return

To initiate a return, the product must:

  • Be unused, unworn, and unwashed

  • Be returned with original packaging, tags, folds, and labels intact

  • Include the original invoice or proof of purchase

Return Request Window

Please notify us immediately on receiving the product if it is damaged or incorrect. Requests raised beyond 48 hours of delivery may not be accepted.

How to Initiate a Return

Email or WhatsApp our support team with:

  • Order number

  • Your contact details

  • Clear photos/video showing the defect or wrong item

Contact:

Once your request is reviewed and approved, we will:

  • Share the return shipping instructions, or

  • Provide a return shipping label, if applicable

Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted

Return Shipping

  • Customers must ship the product only after return approval.

  • Chitralooms will bear the return shipping cost only if the product delivered is damaged or incorrect.

EXCHANGE POLICY

We do not offer product exchanges.
If you require a different item, please initiate a return (if eligible) and place a new order separately.

ORDER CANCELLATION POLICY

 

  • Orders once placed cannot be cancelled once they are processed or dispatched.

  • If you wish to request cancellation, please contact us immediately at:

  • Approval of cancellation is at Chitralooms’ discretion based on the order status.

PRODUCT INFORMATION & COLOUR VARIATIONS

  • All photographs are taken under professional lighting and setup. Slight variations in colour may occur due to screen resolution, brightness settings, or device differences.

  • A 5–10% colour variation is considered standard and will not qualify for return.

  • Handloom products may display minor weaving irregularities, thread pulls, or texture differences. These characteristics highlight craftsmanship and are not considered defects.

NON-RETURNABLE CATEGORIES

  • Sale / discounted items

  • Gift cards

  • Products customised with fall & pico / tassels / blouse detachment

  • Used, washed, damaged or altered items

Force Majeure

Chitra Looms shall not be held liable for any delay, failure, or interruption in fulfilling orders, delivering products, processing returns, or performing any of its obligations under these policies if such delay or failure arises from a Force Majeure event. Force Majeure events include circumstances that are beyond the reasonable control of Chitra Looms, including but not limited to:

  • Acts of God, natural calamities (such as floods, earthquakes, storms, fires)

  • Epidemics, pandemics, public health emergencies, and related governmental restrictions

  • War, terrorism, civil unrest, riots, or sabotage

  • Governmental actions, changes in law, embargoes, export/import restrictions

  • Strikes, lockouts, labour disputes, or industrial disturbances

  • Disruptions in transportation networks or logistics channels

  • Power failures, communication outages, or breakdown of essential machinery

  • Any other event or circumstance that is unforeseeable and prevents performance despite reasonable precautions

In the event of a Force Majeure situation:

  1. Chitra Looms will make reasonable efforts to notify customers of expected delays or disruptions.

  2. Delivery timelines, processing windows, and return/exchange actions may be temporarily extended.

  3. Obligations impacted by the Force Majeure event will be suspended for the duration of the event.

  4. Once the Force Majeure condition ceases, Chitra Looms will resume normal operations at the earliest possible time.

Customers acknowledge that such events do not constitute grounds for claims, cancellations, penalties, refunds (beyond standard return eligibility), or damages against Chitra Looms.
